Incumbent- Carroll G Schoch (Bud) is originally from Ontonagon, Michigan and has a Master's Degree in Business Education from Northern Michigan University. He taught typing, shorthand, accounting, business math, general math, general business and geography in the Cheboygan school system for 30 years. Bud has served Straits Area Federal Credit Union for over thirty years on various committees as well as on the Board of Directors. He and his wife Maryann have three children.

Incumbent- Herb Haase graduated from Michigan State University in 1972 with a Bachelor's Degree in English. He moved to Cheboygan in 1977 where he worked in the field of advertising sales and as a printing broker. He is currently semi-retired. He has been involved in the Fraternal Order of Eagles since 1983 where he served as a Trustee, Vice President and President. His duties are in administration. Herb has been a member of Straits Area Federal Credit Union since 1999 and has been on the Board of Directors since 2007. He has two sons and one grandchild.

New Applicant- Mike Ekdahl is a 1993 graduate of Cheboygan Area High School. Mike graduated from the University of Michigan in 1997, and has been practicing law in Cheboygan since his graduation from Wayne State University Law in 2000. Mike belongs to the Cheboygan Lions Club and the Cheboygan County Bar Association. As an attorney, Mike feels that he has a unique perspective of the importance of a community based financial institution. Whether buying or selling a home, small business, or moving on after a loved one has passed or after a divorce, his clients have relied on institutions like SAFCU when significant life changes transpire. He lives in Cheboygan with his wife Stacey, his son Jack and daughter Mallory.

New Applicant- John Hudson is a 1996 graduate of Cheboygan Area High School. He graduated from Michigan State University in 2000 with a BA in finance. He wishes to become a volunteer for SAFCU, as it is the responsibility of all who care about our community to step up and be willing to provide direction and leadership based on our individual skill sets. John feels he has been extremely blessed to have been raised in northern lower Michigan and chooses to raise his family here as well. John resides in Indian River with his wife Kristen and their son.
